YWAM St. Petersburg is ministering to youth in this city. They are ministering through a program called “Chainik”. A chainik is a teapot, but the slang meaning is dummy. For years books have been put out “_____ for Dummies”. The goal of this ministry is to train young people in the faith. The summer program is Mission Adventures. It has had a good reception in this city and has helped to unite youth from different churches.

The theme of this month’s meeting is “Get out of Your Aquarium”. It’s an encouragement to get out into the sea and share our faith. It was a fun night.

The YWAM team came over this evening to celebrate the New Year with us. We made some pizza and had lots of fun exchanging gag gifts.

YWAM St. Petersburg is running Mission Adventures in the summer and during the off season they are holding meetings for youth to encourage them. The name of these meetings is Chainik which literally translated means teapot. The other meaning is simpleton and that is the focus of these meetings and the ministry, that we should all have simple faith in Jesus. The world will see us as fools, but the scripture says that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. Tonight was the first Chainik.
