Today Ramona and I attended a wedding of a friend in town. Our friend married a lovely Russian girl who he has known for sometime now. The couple makes such a lovely pair.


The wedding started in the Russian Orthodox Church where Pushkin was married. The priest there is a wonderful man. He had such a lovely teaching after the formal marriage ceremony for the couple. You could really hear his heart through the message. The picture is from the ceremony where the couple walks around with the priest. Unfortunately I don’t know much about the symbolism, but the crowns, candles, and it all has significance.

After the ceremony the wedding party went and took a long boat cruise around St. Petersburg. When we landed Peter the Great met us along with a drum line of young Russian girls. Above is picture of the couple boarding their horse drawn carriage that will take them to the reception at the Grand Hotel Europe. This is St. Petersburg’s only true five-star hotel.

The final shot is from the reception. The couple had ordered several groups to perform that evening for us. This was the Russian group. They were a lot of fun and did a wonderful job.
